My very first cosplay, my very first disappointment
So, back in 2008 I was full on NOT studying in university. For all the right reasons I wanted to be a veterinarian (DMV) and I was trying to study for it, with no success. I spent more time drinking at the other campus, for humanities (much more interesting btw) and suddenly I found myself surrounded with friends. Two of them loved Death Note, and because of them I wanted to like it to. Not possible: I just don't like desu notu DDDD:
In the meanwhile I lost contact with both the people that cosplayed with me at the time, for valid and not valid reasons, and I still feed some longing and rage about it. I barely have any registers, but here goes nothing!
I thought I would never EVER cosplay this hateful character so much. The first event I went to was FUPO - Feitos Um Para o Outro and it was terrible. I did not know anyone, I was already looking like an addict drinking bottled wine in the middle of the park, and it was overall very ridiculous and in the middle of nowhere.
but things take an unexpected turn!
My dear friend, who I met online, Hota-chan really wanted to cosplay Misa Amane (last episode outfit). And I thought.... "Well, I do have a Kira cosplay. We may as well cosplay together!" And so was born my first group cosplay, way before collabs and wtv! We did three skits together, and they were all a-amazing! It was SO MUCH FUN to cosplay Light in the end, and this is the proof that cosplay is also made of the people that surround you. :)
Mata a Troika!
It was 2013, and we were full on living hell, with a political mess that left us dependent on the "troika" (some european economical package that was just fucked up). We were kind of young to fully understand it, but at the time I was frequenting a LOT of marches and manifestations, and everything was really hot. So we made this skit for Anicomics, an event I miss, and ended up getting into the final of the contest! This contest was organized in two preliminar rounds and a final the next day. :>
As you can see, the video is basically unwatchable lol Apparently the person that was recording got mist (?) into their objective, because the place was so hot and moist. The male singing voice is my very dear friend Ricardo André Ocaso aka Al-Marah for me and only me
On the final we decided we would do something completely different (or rather, I decided). We went for a tragic take with a song by Mão Morta, old band I do love. I have not recordings of this video, so here are a couple of pictures for your enjoyment :3
At this time of the events I don't know who took each picture, if you find your photo here tell me so I can give credit
Kira Shop
And for our final performance with these costumes, we decided to make fun of the government again. This time we decided we would kill our zombie president, and made a twist on a very known sketch from PT 90s tv, featuring Herman José (Melga Shop). There are no recordings of this as well, but here is a picture!
And with this finished the life and death of Light Yagami. I don't even know where the costume is, or went, or if it was taken by fairies.
